TRAGEDY IN NJ: Frum Couple R?L Struck & Killed By Vehicle Walking Home From Shul
(Saturday, September 15th, 2012)A couple was R?L killed and another person seriously injured when they were struck by a car in central New Jersey.
East Brunswick police say the driver of the car was also critically injured in the accident, which occurred just before 1:00PM Shabbos afternoon, in the area of Dunhams Corner Road and Hardenburg Lane.
Residents say the victims had just left the Young Israel of East Brunswick, and were walking from the synagogue when a car crashed into them ? killing the couple on the spot.
Several neighbors claim the driver was speeding and trying to cut a right turn before the light turned red when the car jumped the curb ? killing the victim?s on the sidewalk and taking down a utility pole.
Fellow members of the Shul told Eyewitness News that the victims were walking with their adult son and another couple when tragedy struck.
